Nestor Alban, Head Tailor

A long-time employee, with 27 years devoted to Western Costume, Nestor Alban comes from Equador, South America. Before moving to the United States 30 years ago, Nestor gained his well-rounded expertise in garments as president of his own clothing manufacturing company. He credits his encyclopedic knowledge of men's costumes world-wide to a lifetime of education, which include tailoring school in his native country and fashion classes in Mexico and Paris. Unstoppable in learning, Nestor will be spending his vacation this year in Spain taking more classes in fashion design.

Here at the Men's Tailoring Department, Nestor has worked on literally thousands of films, custom making costumes for practically every male film star in the business. He tells us he can create a costume from any design sketch and loves his work. His desire to expand his horizons keeps him busy reading on new fashions and American history. Nestor is also a skilled gardener, and every year he returns to his family farm in Equador, to harvest his famous giant tomatoes.
