Eddie Marks
President
Eddie Marks applies a lifetime of experience to serve the needs of costumers at Western Costume. Actually, he has more than a lifetime of experience, since Eddie comes from a costuming family – his father, Lambert Marks, was well known as one of Hollywood’s premiere costumers, at MGM, Universal Studios and as an independent. Eddie has been in the business since 1965 and had the opportunity to apply his business skills to help other costumers, serving on the Motion Picture Costumers Union Executive Board for six years, helping negotiate contracts between producers and costumers.
In 1987 Eddie Marks received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Costuming for a Mini Series or Special for his work on the CBS-MOW “Shakedown on Sunset Strip,” a 1950’s L.A. crime drama.
Eddie Marks’ association with Western Costume began, as with so many other costumers, when he would use Western’s services for his film and television projects. Joining the company formally in 1989 as a Vice President, Eddie was made President in 1992, supervising the company’s expansion and subsequent move from Melrose Avenue to its current address, 11041 Vanowen Street in North Hollywood. More recently he has supervised the multi-million dollar expansion of Western Costume’s world-famous Uniform Department and the modernization of the state-of-the-art research library.
Raised in the San Fernando Valley, minutes from the film and television studios he would visit growing up, Eddie and his wife of 30 years Debby – a former television production coordinator – have two children, Branden and Garrett. Eddie is a licensed pilot, enjoys the outdoors, golf and is an avid bowler.
